Each year the Harwich Republican Town Committee awards a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating Harwich senior — regardless of political affiliation. Here are our recipients.
Scholarship Winner 2026

The Harwich Republican Town Committee is pleased to announce that Sawyer Nicholson is the recipient of the seventh $1,000 scholarship in 2026 offered to a graduating Harwich senior. We received a record number of 13 applications from outstanding and accomplished students, which made the selection process challenging. However, Sawyer was the clear winner with an impressive essay and admirable achievements. He will be attending Southern Maine Community College, where he will enroll in its Live-In Firefighter Program — allowing students to earn Firefighter I/II certification and an associate degree while gaining hands-on experience in a fire station.
